Wild Harvest Organic All-Purpose Flour is being recalled for possible E. coli contamination.  The recalled flour was sold in 5-lb bags with the code of AA,  “BEST IF USED BY” 010820 CC 15:58 and UPC Code 711535509158. UNFI issued the recall for Wild Harvest flour after inspectors from the  U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found E. coli in samples of the product during routine testing.

At the time of the recall, the company said it was unaware of any confirmed reports of illness. But consumers who purchase this brand should check recall information carefully as E. coli can cause serious illness and death.

Symptoms of an E. coli infection usually develop within three or four days of eating contaminated food. They include abdominal cramps and diarrhea that can be bloody. Consumers who have used this product and developed these symptoms should see a doctor and mention possible exposure to E. coli.
