A major onion recall liked to a Salmonella outbreak includes some EveryPlate meals. EveryPlate is owned by HelloFresh and both companies use ProSource Produce LLC of Hailey, Idaho as a supplier. ProSource has issued an onion recall.
The EveryPlate recall includes onions in meal kits produced from July 7, 2021, to September 8, 2021. Meal kits that were produced after September 8, 2021, aren’t included in the recall.
To see if meals they have received are included in this recall, EveryPlate customers should check product codes, located on the bottom square of the box shipping label. Product codes are circled in red in the photo below.
The recalled EveryPlate meals were produced from July 7, 2021, through September 1, 2021. The EveryPlate product codes for meals containing recalled onions are:

Onion Salmonella Outbreak
Symptoms of a Salmonella infection include nausea, fever, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Usually, these symptoms develop within six to 72 hours of eating contaminated food.
An ongoing 37-state Salmonella outbreak includes at least 652 people. The patients, who range in age from less than 1 year old to 97 years old, told health officials that they first began to feel sick on dates ranging from May 31, 2021, to September 30, 2021.
The number of illnesses reported from each state is: Alabama (3), Arkansas (12), California (9), Colorado (1), Connecticut (4), Florida (5), Georgia (2), Illinois (37), Indiana (1), Iowa (3), Kansas (14), Kentucky (9), Louisiana (5), Maryland (48), Massachusetts (12), Michigan (9), Minnesota (23), Mississippi (2), Missouri (21), Nebraska (8), New Jersey (5), New Mexico (8), New York (12), North Carolina (14), North Dakota (4), Ohio (7), Oklahoma (98), Oregon (2), Pennsylvania (7), South Carolina (3), South Dakota (8), Tennessee (10), Texas (158), Utah (3), Virginia (59), West Virginia (1), and Wisconsin (25).
