Lipari Foods of Warren, MI is again expanding its Listeria recall of wedge sandwiches sold under the brand names Premo and Fresh Grab. The recall now includes all sandwiches with a “Best By” date of 2/6/20 or before.  Please click the preceding link to see a complete list of all the recalled sandwiches.

Although the company stated no illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall, consumers who have purchased these sandwiches should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death.

Listeria recall Premo and Fresh Grab Wedge Sandwiches

Lipari said it was expanding the recall after being notified that its supplier JLM was expanding its sandwich recall and was halting production while working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on an investigation of the problem.

The recalled products were sold to foodservice establishments and retail stores in Alabama, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Symptoms of a Listeria infection include high fever, headaches, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.
