A raw milk Campylobacter outbreak includes 14 people in Utah. One person has been hospitalized.
All but two of the patients, who range in age from 2 to 73 years old, reported drinking raw milk before they developed symptoms of a Campylobacter infection which include nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.
Health officials are still working to identify the specific source of the outbreak.
Raw milk laws vary from state to state. In Utah, raw milk can only be sold directly from farm to consumer. It cannot be sold in stores.
Since 2009, there have been 25 Campylobacter raw milk outbreaks in Utah. Together, those outbreaks sickened a total of 295 people.
