A ground bison recall including Northbrook, Sayers Brook and Fossil Farms ground meat and Northbrook Buffalo Burgers has been issued the products were linked to an E. coli outbreak. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as E. coli can cause serious illness.
The outbreak has sickened 21 people in seven states, hospitalizing eight of them. The recalled products (see labels below) were produced by Northfork Bison Distributions, Inc. in Saint-Leonard, Quebec, Canada .
The people sickened in this outbreak ate ground bison at home and at restaurants before developing symptoms of an E. coli infection which include abdominal cramps and bloody diarrhea.
Twenty-one cases reported from seven states are:

- Florida 4
- Michigan 1
- Missouri 1
- New Jersey 2
- New York 9
- Pennsylvania 3
