Brown eggs identified as the source of a multistate Salmonella outbreak have been recalled. Country Eggs of Lucerne Valley, CA, issued a recall for large, brown, cage-free eggs sold at grocery stores and to foodservice distributors on August 27.
California health officials discovered the link while investigating a Salmonella outbreak at Chubby Cattle restaurant in Los Angeles. That ongoing investigation includes Chubby Cattle locations in Little Tokyo and Rowland Heights. Illness clusters tied to at least four restaurants are part of the outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
