A Salmonella outbreak at Al Basha restaurant has sickened three people in Seattle, according to the King County Health Department. The illnesses occurred among customers who visited the restaurant between September 15 and September 23, 2019.

During an inspection of the restaurant on October 10, health officials noted that two factors may have contributed to the outbreak: inadequate handwashing; and food handling practices that could have led to cross-contamination. Al Basha has addressed these issues and conducted a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the restaurant located at 2302 1st Ave.
