Marketside Classic Iceberg Salad made by Fresh Express and sold at Walmart stores in the Midwest is being recalled for Cyclospora risk. Fresh Express of Salinas, CA issued the Marketside Classic Iceberg Salad recall on June 25, 2020 after it was linked to six illnesses in North Dakota that are part of an eight-state outbreak that has sickened 206 people.
This is the fourth store brand of bagged garden salad containing iceberg lettuce, carrots and red cabbage made by Fresh Express to be recalled in connection with this outbreak. Salads sold under store brand names at ALDI, Hy-Vee and Jewel-Osco were recalled earlier this week.

Consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as the Cyclospora parasite can cause serious illness. Symptoms, which can last for weeks or months if untreated, include diarrahea that is explosive and sometimes watery, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, body aches and fatigue.
