Henry Avocado Corp. of Escondido, CA  has issued a recall for California-grown avocados that are potentially contaminated with Listeria. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported in association with the avocados. However, consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death.

All of the recalled avocados were packed at the company’s packing facility in California, which began shipping products in late January 2019. Avocados grown in Mexico and distributed by Henry are not included in this recall.

The recall includes both conventionally grown and organic avocados. The conventionally grown avocados bear yellow stickers with a bar code and the words “Bravocado” and “California.”
