A Salmonella recall for Helados Mexico Mini Cream Variety Packs includes Walmart and other stores. Consumers who have purchased items with the “best by date of “MO Best By 10/11/2025” should not eat them.

Health officials did product tests on the variety packs and found the presence of Salmonella in the mango bars.  Symptoms of an infection, called salmonellosis, include nausea, fever, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Salmonellosis can cause severe illness requiring hospitalization and are sometimes fatal. At the time of the recall, the company was not aware of any illnesses

Stores in the following states sold the recalled product: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Washington, DC. Some European locations are also included.

Walmart stores that sold the product are located in– Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington DC.

The company has temporarily halted production while it conducts a root-cause investigation.
