HEB Texas Pets Indoor Complete Dry Cat Food has been recalled for Salmonella. Contaminated pet food can cause illness in pets who eat it and humans who handle it. At the time of the recall, the company said it was not aware of any illnesses associated with the product.
The recalled cat food was sold at HEB stores in Texas. On the second line of the lot code printed on the back of recalled bags is the code“MFG 13 NOV 22.” It has been removed from store shelves.
Symptoms of a Salmonella infection in humans include fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea that may be bloody. Cats with Salmonella infections will suffer similar symptoms and may also appear lethargic or have a lack of appetite.
