Minnesota is part of a 13-state Listeria outbreak linked to chicken fettuccine Alfredo meals made by Fresh Realm of Indianapolis.  The outbreak includes 17 illnesses, three deaths, and a fetal loss.

 

Listeria Recall at Minnesota Walmart Stores

On June 18, Fresh Realm issued a recall for the products sold nationwide at Walmart and the Kroger family of stores, which includes Dillons, Baker’s, Gerbes, King Soopers, Jay C, City Market, Fry’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Payless Supermarket, QFC, and Smith’s. In Minnesota, where one illness has been reported, the products were sold only at Walmart stores. The product labels had the following information:

  • Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo with Fettuccine – Tender Pasta with Creamy Alfredo Sauce, White Meat Chicken and Shaved Parmesan Cheese with best-by date 06/27/25 or prior, 32.8-oz. tray packages
  • Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo with Fettuccine – Tender Pasta with Creamy Alfredo Sauce, White Meat Chicken, Broccoli and Shaved Parmesan Cheese” with best-by date 06/26/25 or prior, 12.3 oz. tray packages

Symptoms of a Listeria Infection

Symptoms of a Listeria infection typically appear within 24 hours of exposure, but can sometimes take up to 10 weeks to develop. They include:

  • Severe headache
  • High fever
  • Stiff neck
  • Other muscle stiffness
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Confusion
  • Loss of balance
  • Convulsions
