Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. has issued a recall for baby spinach packaged in bags and plastic clamshell containers for possible Salmonella contamination. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported. However, consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as Salmonella can cause serious illness.
The recalled products have “Use-by” dates of 08-05-2019. They include:
- 6 oz bags of Dole Baby Spinach, Lot code W20308A, UPC code 0-71430-00964-2
- 10 oz plastic clamsell containers of Dole Baby Spinach, Lot code W203010, UPC code 0-71430-00016-8
No other products are included in the recall.
The recalled products, which are expired and should no longer be on sale, were distributed to stores in IL, IN, KY, MI, NJ, NY, OH, TN, VA, and WI. The problem was discovered during random testing conducted by the Department of Agriculture in Michigan.
