A cucumber Salmonella recall includes Food Lion.
Fresh Start Produce of Delray, FL issued the recall on May 31, 2024, after the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in a sample from a cucumber purchased at a grocery store. Federal health officials are performing genetic tests on that Salmonella strain to see if it matches one linked to an ongoing Salmonella outbreak.
Cucumber Salmonella Recall
Mini cucumbers and English cucumbers are not included in this recall. The recalled Fresh Start cucumbers are:
- Dark green
- Approximately 1.5 – 2.0 inches in diameter
- 5 – 9 inches long
- Shipped in bulk cartons from May 17 to May 21, 2024
Which Stores Sold the Recalled Cucumbers?
Several retailers sold the recalled cucumbers. The recall includes Food Lion stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
