K2D Foods Recalls Ground Beef Products During E.coli O103 Outbreak

Ground Beef Recalled By K2D Foods

While the E.coli O103 outbreak linked to ground beef continues to expand, K2D Foods has recalled for more than 100,000 pounds of ground beef due to possible E.coli O103 contamination. K2D Foods, doing business as Colorado Premium Foods, recalled ground beef produced between March 26th and April 12th, 2019. The products bear the establishment number “EST. 51308” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

E.coli O103 Ground Beef Outbreak

At least 156 people from 10 states developed E.coli O103 infections from ground beef. People who got sick reported eating the ground beef at home or in restaurants. Public health officials continue traceback investigations to determine a common supplier. As non-O157 serotypes are harder to identify, many clinical labs do not test for them. If you believe you got sick with E.coli O103 from ground beef, see your healthcare provider and request a stool test.

Can I Sue for E.coli O103 Poisoning?

E.coli is an illegal pathogen in ground beef and should not be in the food you feed your family. Companies could help prevent food poisoning outbreaks like this one by following federal food safety regulations. If you or a loved one tested positive for an E.coli O103 infection from ground beef, you may have a claim. A claim can be filed if there is evidence that demonstrates a link between the contaminated product and the illness. Public disclosure of brands, companies, or stores is not required to file a lawsuit. The E.coli legal team at Pritzker Hageman helps people who have been sickened by contaminated food.
