Raw Milk E. coli, Campylobacter Outbreak in Wyoming
Raw milk contaminated with E. coli and Campylobacter has sickened five people in Wyoming. Two of them are hospitalized. Four of the raw milk outbreak patients are children.
Health officials have not released the name of the producer, but online vendor Slow Food in the Tetons which sold the milk on September 14 and September 21, discontinued sales of the product after becoming aware of the illnesses.
Kim Deti, a public information officer with The Wyoming Department of Health emailed a survey to 61 potentially affected households and about one-third of them responded, Kim Deti, a public information officer told the Jackson Hole News and Guide. “Both the seller and the producer identified in connection with the illness cluster have been cooperative, allowing for direct communication,” she said.
