As of November 24, 99 people from 32 states have developed Salmonella infections after eating contaminated cantaloupe, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The patients range in age from 1 to 100 years old. Forty-five of them have been hospitalized and two patients from Minnesota have died.
